Your paper deserves to be read, not dismissed
If your work criticizes mainstream science and established journals won't give it a fair hearing, this journal will. We review it seriously and judge it on its reasoning and evidence, not on whether it agrees with the consensus.
Why publish here
- A fair hearing Reviewers are asked whether the argument is sound and the evidence sufficient for the claim, not whether they agree with the conclusion.
- Double-anonymous review Your paper is judged on what it says. Reviewers don't see who wrote it, and you don't learn who reviewed it.
- A permanent, citable record Published papers get a stable home and a dated record of review, so libraries and search engines can find them. Accepted papers appear in a quarterly issue, published both online and in print.
- Free and open No submission or publication fees. Every article is free to read from the day it is published, and you keep your copyright.
- Present your work on YouTube Authors of accepted papers are eligible to present their work on the Chappell Natural Philosophy Society YouTube channel, which puts it in front of a far wider audience than a journal page alone.
What we publish
Original research in physics, cosmology and the foundations of science, with particular attention to work that questions, reformulates or offers alternatives to established theory. Our sections cover relativity and gravitation; aether and unified field theory; cosmology and astrophysics; electrodynamics, light and optics; quantum, atomic and nuclear physics; plasma and the electric universe; energy, propulsion and applications; earth and planetary science; and the philosophy and foundations of science. A separate, non-refereed section takes commentary and historical notes.
What we ask of you
Unorthodox is welcome. Unaccountable is not. A paper that meets these standards gets a serious reading, whatever its conclusion.
- State your central claim explicitly, early, and in plain language.
- Show your derivations rather than asserting results.
- Give the method, the instrument and the uncertainty for every measurement.
- Engage with the strongest evidence against your position.
- For experimental claims, describe how an independent group could check the result.
- Include an abstract of no more than 300 words, and up to six keywords.
The full rules are in the Author Guidelines.
